Irv was my mentor and friend. He was a wonderful person and I am deeply indebted to his influence over my career as an artist.
I studied with Irv for several years, and as his studio assistant, I also learned many aspects of the art world. He was a great teacher! My own studio has many reminders of his techniques and philosophy, along with photos and mementos, making it a warm and special place to create art.
A new website has just been launched featuring his work.
You can see some of Irv’s work at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital, the Mastic-Shirley Library, the Quogue Library, the Bellport Country Club, and at the Intrepid Air & Space Museum in NYC where an impressive 7 ft photo mural of his flag painting, “U.S.A.” greets vistiors.
