Writing the Artists Statement

Hi I just want to let everyone out there know- I went to a workshop at East End Arts Council in Riverhead, Long Island, New York about- how to write an artists statement-The two facilitators were Michelle Drake and Pat Rogers- two gals very knowledgeable in the fields of marketing and self-promotion. Michelle is a motivational speaker and Pat is a journalist. After listening to the presentation, we all took turns with the creative writing process and I think came away with lots of great ideas. The workshop went over the scheduled time period because we really got into it. They are going to be offering other workshops in grant writing and other relevant themes for artists of all disciplines so check their website atwww.eastendarts.orgI’m really glad I went!
